Born from the Ashes.

Luma draws its roots from the latin work Lumen meaning light. And like the Phoenix, Luma was born from the ashes of loss and transformation.

Our founder’s story began in the aftermath of a messy and traumatic divorce—a time when everything stable seemed to vanish overnight. Left rebuilding from the ground up, she discovered how isolating and overwhelming it can be to navigate major life transitions without a lifeline of support.

From that pain came a purpose: to create what she couldn’t find. A safe, compassionate space for women walking through the fire—whether that’s divorce, an abusive relationship, or the trauma of human trafficking.

Luma Initiative exists to be that guiding light. Our Resource Library connects women to trusted legal aid, trauma-informed therapists, and support networks. Through our Peer-to-Peer Program, we pair women to listen, uplift, and walk beside one another—because healing grows in community.

In partnership with Luma Yoga Studio, the Restore Membership offers a sanctuary for body and mind, supporting emotional recovery through movement, mindfulness, and connection.

And because starting over often requires tangible help, the Luma Grant Fund provides financial assistance for therapy, legal services, or relocation—helping women take real steps toward freedom and stability.

Luma is more than an initiative—it’s a movement of light.Born from the ashes, it shines to remind every woman that no matter how dark the night, she carries within her the power to rise, to heal, and to shine again.
